[B. KONIECZNOŚĆ NABOŻEŃSTWA DO MARYI, ZWŁASZCZA W CZASACH OSTATECZNYCH.]
49. Przez Maryję rozpoczęło się zbawienie świata i przez Maryję musi się ono dopełnić. Przy pierwszym przyjściu Jezusa Chrystusa Maryja prawie wcale się nie ukazywała, aby ludzie, którzy o osobie Jej Syna mało jeszcze wiedzieli, nie przywiązywali się do Niej zbyt ziemskim i przyrodzonym uczuciem, oddalając się przez to od prawdy. A gdyby Maryja bardziej była znana, niezawodnie by to nastąpiło, z powodu cudownego Jej wdzięku, którym Najwyższy także na zewnątrz Ją ozdobił. Toteż Dionizy Pseudo-Areopagita pisze, iż gdy Ją ujrzał, z powodu Jej tajemniczego uroku i niezrównanej piękności byłby wziął Ją za bóstwo, gdyby wiara, w której był ugruntowany, nie pouczyła go, że Ona nim nie jest.
Natomiast przy drugim przyjściu Jezusa Chrystusa Maryja musi być znana i przez Ducha Świętego objawiona, aby to przez Nią Chrystusa poznano, kochano i Mu służono, albowiem powody, dla których Duch Święty ukrył swoją Oblubienicę za Jej życia ziemskiego, dając w Ewangelii tak szczupłe o Niej objawienie, już istnieć nie będą.
[I. Bóg chce objawić i odsłonić Maryję w czasach ostatecznych]
50. Bóg zatem pragnie Maryję, Arcydzieło rąk swoich, w owych czasach ostatecznych objawić i odsłonić:
- Ponieważ sama ukrywała się na tym świecie i w swej głębokiej pokorze uniżała się bardziej niż proch, uzyskawszy u Pana Boga, u Apostołów i Ewangelistów to, że zamilczeli o Jej życiu.
- Ponieważ Maryja jest Arcydziełem rąk Bożych, tak na ziemi przez łaskę, jak w niebie przez chwałę, Bóg chce, by Go w Niej za to wielbiono na ziemi i wśród żyjących wysławiano.
- Ponieważ Maryja jest Jutrzenką, poprzedzającą i odsłaniającą Słońce sprawiedliwości, Jezusa Chrystusa, dlatego powinna być poznana i objawiona, by przez to Jezus Chrystus był poznany i uwielbiony.
- Ponieważ Maryja jest drogą, którą Jezus Chrystus przyszedł do nas po raz pierwszy, będzie nią i wtedy, kiedy Chrystus przyjdzie powtórnie, choć nie w ten sam sposób.
- Ponieważ Maryja jest środkiem pewnym, drogą prostą i niepokalaną, by dojść do Chrystusa i znaleźć Go niezawodnie, dlatego święte dusze, które mają szczególną zabłysnąć świętością, muszą znaleźć Jezusa przez Maryję. Kto znajdzie Maryję, znajdzie Życie (41), to znaczy Jezusa Chrystusa, który jest Drogą, Prawdą i Życiem (42). Nie można jednak znaleźć Maryi, nie szukając Jej; nie można Jej szukać, nie znając Jej, gdyż nikt nie szuka, ani nie pragnie, czego nie zna. Konieczne jest więc rzeczą, by Maryję znano więcej niż kiedykolwiek, ażeby Trójca Przenajświętsza jak najwięcej była znana i wielbiona.
- Maryja musi w owych czasach ostatecznych więcej niż kiedykolwiek zajaśnieć miłosierdziem, mocą i łaską. Musi zajaśnieć miłosierdziem, by przyprowadzić do owczarni Chrystusowej i miłośnie przygarnąć biednych grzeszników i zbłąkanych, którzy nawrócą się i powrócą do Kościoła katolickiego. Musi zajaśnieć mocą przeciw nieprzyjaciołom Boga, przeciw bałwochwalcom, schizmatykom, mahometanom, żydom i zatwardziałym bezbożnikom, którzy będą się strasznie buntować i wytężą wszystkie siły, żeby tych, co się im przeciwstawią, skusić i doprowadzić do upadku obietnicami lub groźbami. Wreszcie, musi zajaśnieć łaską, by dodać otuchy i męstwa walecznym żołnierzom i wiernym sługom Jezusa Chrystusa, którzy będą walczyć w Jego sprawie.
- Na koniec Maryja musi być groźna jak zbrojne zastępy (43), straszna jak wojsko gotowe do boju przeciw szatanowi i jego wspólnikom, głównie w owych czasach ostatnich, gdyż szatan wiedząc dobrze, że mało, o wiele mniej niż kiedykolwiek pozostaje czasu (44), by gubić dusze, będzie codziennie podwajać swe wysiłki i zakusy. Wznieci więc on okrutne prześladowanie i pocznie zastawiać straszne zasadzki na wierne sługi i na prawdziwe dzieci Maryi, które mu o wiele trudniej pokonać niż innych.
51. Do tych właśnie ostatnich i okrutnych prześladowań szatana, co wzmagać się będą z dnia na dzień aż do przyjścia Antychrysta, odnosi się głównie owa pierwsza i sławna przepowiednia i owo przekleństwo, które Bóg rzucił na węża w raju ziemskim.
Warto je tu wytłumaczyć na chwałę Najświętszej Dziewicy, dla zbawienia Jej dzieci i ku zawstydzeniu szatana.
Wprowadzam nieprzyjaźń między ciebie a Niewiastę, pomiędzy potomstwo twoje a potomstwo Jej. Ono zmiażdży ci głowę, a ty zmiażdżysz mu piętę (45).
52. Tylko jeden raz położył Bóg nieprzyjaźń, ale nieprzyjaźń nieprzejednaną, która trwać będzie do końca świata i wzmagać się nieustannie: to nieprzyjaźń między Maryją, czcigodną Matką Bożą, a szatanem, między dziećmi i sługami Najświętszej Dziewicy a dziećmi i wspólnikami Lucyfera. Maryja, Najświętsza Matka Boża, jest największą nieprzyjaciółką, jaką Bóg przeciwstawił szatanowi. Już w raju ziemskim Bóg tchnął w Nią, choć wtedy istniała tylko w myśli Bożej, tyle nienawiści do tego przeklętego nieprzyjaciela Bożego, dał Jej tyle zręczności do ujawnienia złośliwości tego starodawnego węża, tyle siły do zwyciężenia, zdeptania i zmiażdżenia tego pysznego bezbożnika, że on nie tylko lęka się Jej więcej niż wszystkich aniołów i ludzi, ale poniekąd więcej niż samego Boga. Nie znaczy to, jakoby gniew, nienawiść i potęga u Boga nie były nieskończenie większe niż u Najświętszej Maryi Panny, gdyż doskonałości Maryi są przecież ograniczone. Raczej tłumaczy się to tym, że po pierwsze: szatan w swej pysze cierpi nieskończenie bardziej, iż zwycięża go i gromi nikła, pokorna służebnica Pańska, której pokora upokarza go bardziej niż potęga Boża; po drugie: Bóg dał Maryi tak wielką władzę nad szatanami, że – jak często sami zmuszeni byli wyznać ustami opętanych – więcej boją się jednego za jakąś duszą Jej westchnienia niż modlitw wszystkich świętych; więcej boją się jednej Jej groźby niż wszelkich innych mąk.
53. Co Lucyfer stracił przez pychę, Maryja odzyskała przez pokorę. Co Ewa zgubiła i zaprzepaściła przez nieposłuszeństwo, Maryja uratowała przez posłuszeństwo. Słuchając węża, Ewa zatraciła siebie wraz ze wszystkimi swymi dziećmi i wydała je w ręce szatana. Maryja przez swą doskonałą wierność Bogu ocaliła siebie i wszystkie swoje dzieci, i poświęciła je Majestatowi Bożemu.
54. Bóg wprowadził nie tylko nieprzyjaźń, lecz nieprzyjaźnie, bo nie tylko pomiędzy Maryją i szatanem, ale i pomiędzy potomstwem Najświętszej Dziewicy a potomstwem szatana. Znaczy to, że Bóg wprowadził nieprzyjaźń, odrazę i skrytą nienawiść między prawdziwymi dziećmi i sługami Najświętszej Dziewicy a dziećmi i niewolnikami szatana. Nie kochają się oni wzajemnie i żadnej nie ma między nimi wewnętrznej łączności. Dzieci Beliala (46), niewolnicy szatana, miłośnicy świata – bo to na jedno wychodzi – prześladowali dotąd i w przyszłości bardziej niż kiedykolwiek prześladować będą wszystkich, co należą do Najświętszej Dziewicy, jak niegdyś Kain prześladował brata swego Abla (47), a Ezaw brata swego Jakuba (48). Wyobrażają oni odrzuconych i wybranych. Jednakże pokorna Maryja zawsze odnosić będzie nad pysznym szatanem zwycięstwa i tak świetne triumfy, że zetrze jego głowę, siedlisko pychy. Po wsze czasy Maryja odsłoni jego wężową złośliwość, odkryje piekielne jego zamysły, unicestwi jego diabelskie zamiary, a osłaniać będzie przed jego okrutnymi pazurami swe wierne sługi do końca wieków.
Jednak władza Maryi nad wszystkimi diabłami zabłyśnie w czasach ostatecznych, kiedy to szatan czyhać będzie na Jej piętę, to znaczy: na wierne Jej dzieci i pokorne Jej sługi, które Ona do walki z nim wzbudzi. W oczach świata będą oni mali i biedni, poniżeni, prześladowani i uciskani, podobnie jak pięta w stosunku do reszty członków ciała. Lecz w zamian za to będą bogaci w łaski Boże, których im Maryja obficie udzieli; będą wielcy i możni przed Bogiem; w świętości zostaną wyniesieni ponad wszelkie stworzenie przez swą gorącą żarliwość, a Bóg tak potężnie podtrzymywać ich będzie swoją mocą, że wraz z Maryją głęboką swą pokorą miażdżyć będą głowę diabła i staną się sprawcami triumfu Jezusa Chrystusa.
