Nieraz nie udaje się im oddać podobieństwa do Jezusa, bo nie znają wyrazu Jego Oblicza, czy też z powodu braku znajomości i doświadczenia Jezusa Chrystusa, lub – skutkiem błędnego uderzenia, którym popsuli całe dzieło. Natomiast tych, co pojęli tajemnicę łaski, jaką im przedstawiam, przyrównuję słusznie do odlewników. Oni to, znalazłszy piękną formę – Maryję, w której Jezus został ukształtowany naturalnym i boskim sposobem, oraz własnej zręczności nie ufając, lecz jedynie doskonałości Formy – rzucają się w Maryję i w Niej się zatracają, by móc stać się wiernym odbiciem Jezusa Chrystusa.

221. Jakież to piękne i prawdziwe porównanie! Lecz któż je zrozumie? Pragnąłbym, byś ty je pojął, drogi bracie. Ale pamiętaj, że do formy wlewa się tylko to, co jest stopione i płynne, to znaczy, iż trzeba zniszczyć i stopić w sobie starego Adama, by stać się Adamem nowym (Chrystusem) w Maryi.

222. 7. Dzięki tej praktyce, przestrzeganej bardzo wiernie, w jednym miesiącu oddasz Jezusowi więcej chwały niż przez inne ćwiczenia, choćby trudniejsze, w ciągu kilku lat. Dlaczego? Otóż odpowiadam:

   1) Spełniając swe uczynki przez Najświętszą Dziewicę w myśl tego nabożeństwa, zrzekasz się własnych, nawet dobrych i znanych ci intencji i dzieł, by zniknąć, że tak powiem, w zamierzeniach i działaniu Najświętszej Dziewicy, choć tych nie znasz. Zyskujesz przez to udział we wzniosłości intencji Maryi. Były one tak czyste, iż najmniejszy z Jej uczynków – np. przędzenie kądzieli czy zrobienie igłą jednego ściegu – więcej oddał Bogu chwały niż okrutne męczeństwo św. Wawrzyńca na rozpalonej kracie, więcej nawet niż wszyscy święci przez swe najbardziej heroiczne czyny 208. Słowem, Maryja w ciągu swego ziemskiego życia zdobyła taki bezmiar niewysłowionych łask i zasług, że łatwiej można by policzyć gwiazdy na firmamencie, krople wody w morzu i na wybrzeżu ziarnka piasku niż Jej zasługi i łaski. Oddała Bogu więcej chwały, niż wszyscy aniołowie i święci oddali i jeszcze oddadzą. Maryjo! Cudzie łaski! Istotnie, potrafisz czynić cuda łaski w duszach, które dobrowolnie i całkowicie chcą się zatracić w Tobie.

223. 2) Dusza, która to nabożeństwo wiernie praktykuje, za nic uważa wszystko, co sama z siebie myśli lub czyni. By zbliżyć się do Chrystusa lub z Nim przynajmniej rozmawiać, szuka ona oparcia i znajduje upodobanie jedynie w zamierzeniach i intencjach Maryi. I dlatego ćwiczy się ona o wiele bardziej w pokorze niż dusze, które działają same z siebie, które w sobie i we własnych zamiarach mają upodobanie i na własne liczą siły. Toteż dusza taka Bogu oddaje o wiele większą chwałę, bo wychwalają Boga doskonale tylko pokorni w duchu i cichego serca.

224. 3) Najświętsza Panna z wielkiej ku nam miłości przyjmuje w swe dziewicze dłonie dary, jakie składamy Jej z naszych uczynków, a nadając im piękność i cudowny blask, sama je ofiarowuje Chrystusowi, przez co przynoszą one Panu naszemu więcej chwały, niż gdybyśmy to my naszymi grzesznymi rękami składali Mu je w ofierze.

225. 4) Ilekroć myślisz o Maryi, Maryja za ciebie myśli o Bogu; dlatego; ilekroć wielbisz i czcisz Maryję, Maryja wraz z tobą wielbi i czci Boga. U Maryi wszystko odnosi się do Boga, tak, iż trafnie można Ją zwać więzią Boga, istniejącą tylko w odniesieniu do Boga, lub echem Bożym, które nic nie mówi i niczego innego nie powtarza, jak Bóg. Jeśli powiesz: Maryja, Ona powie: Bóg. Elżbieta wysławiała Maryję i nazwała błogosławioną Tę, która uwierzyła; Maryja zaś jako wierne echo Boga zaintonowała: Wielbi dusza moja Pana 209. Jak Maryja uczyniła wówczas, tak czyni codziennie. Gdy Ją wielbisz, chwalisz, lub Jej coś ofiarujesz, to wielbisz, kochasz, czcisz Boga i dajesz Bogu przez Maryję i w Maryi.
